Hello all,

I have made literally thousands of videos with the decent Cannon camera and external microphone I purchased for it. The Mic suggested setting the overall volume with a 10% reduction choice the switch has to avoid problems with high peaks. I have made all the videos using that setting. I got to wondering however about the results because in person the sound has a much more "real" sound than the videos. I figured most of it was due to the compression of the signals that You Tube has in place. The record I made the experiment with is a very late one of "I'am looking Over A Four Leaf Clover". The record by no means is perfect , in fact its quite rough but its nearly to the end of Edison Acoustical Recording so I think it worth showing. See if you feel that it has a better presence than the former restricted setting.
