5" Berliner 390 - What Song is it?

Post by donniej »

This is the only known copy and the label is missing. Can you identify the song?
Someone on Facebook believes it to be "Horseman's Gallop" but I can't confirm it. Any help would be appreciated.

The word on the right of the spindle is "Marsch", meaning march. On the left looks like "Gigerl" or "Bigerl", neither of which means anything to me.

Thank you for that observation. It looks like it's "Gigerl March" by J F Wagner. Gigerl is Austrian for "dandy".
Here's a modern performance I found...

"Gigerl Marsch." Google it -- there are lots of hits, including Youtube videos.

(EDIT: we were posting at the same time!)
