Seabee Song

Post by Phonofreak »

Was the 1943 Seabee song issued on 78 RPM records? I have the original sheet music. Once I find out if this was issued on a 78, I'd love to find a copy. I issued supplies to them when I was in the Navy.

My significant others grandfather was in the Seabees during WWII. Her grandmother is still living and showed me the "year book" for them. It had lots of great detail but no mention of any recordings of the song. Apparently there were talks of a movie, which never happened.

John Wayne was in The Fighting SeaBees in 1943, I think. A neat film!

We'll have to watch it next time we visit Nanci's grandmother. Thanks for the correction!

I also have the Fighting Seabees movie. I was stationed in HI from 1984-86 and Diego Garcia from 1988-89. I issued supplies and did work with them. Great duty.
