Re: Gas Shell Bombardment
While it would be nice to own a copy of the actual sounds of the bombings, I just have the gut feeling that these were fake to capture the interest of the public living at that time, when audio news was not as available as it is today. There was a lot of that going around back then. From what I understand a lot of the early Presidential speeches were actually recorded by Len Spencer etc. maybe I’m too skeptical, but I always like the real deal.

Re: Gas Shell Bombardment
There is a lot of debate on this topic. Some say the Gas Shell record is actually real and that the odd sounds are because the poison-gas projector had a different report, of course, than heavy artillery. Seems legit.
I'm glad I didn't respond to this topic when it came out on April Fool's Day...gas shell bombardment could have taken on a whole new meaning, one I could find easily at the office as a lot of my coworkers eat food cooked at gas stations.

Re: Gas Shell Bombardment
Here are two different Record labels....One says October 1918, The other says November 1918.
I tend to believe the October 1918 date of the recording...

Re: Gas Shell Bombardment
The second label with the golden lined corners is 1925-era, and the first one, without corners, is the later label style, 1926-1927.
