Stanley Kubrick's horror classic.
I like Ray Noble records, but I hadn't noted any of them as worth much monetarily, until now.

The starting bid was $499.99 and it closed at over $700! It simply isn’t that rare!
I guess this is where I geezer-out, and regale (well, bore) the room with stories of finding Victor 23000-series Hot Dance records in the wild for 50 cents each or how my mint copy of “My Gal Sal/I’m Sorry Sally” by Danny Altiere & His Orchestra on a small-label Vocalion was given to me by the son of the original owner! Boy, have things changed with the advent of the internet!

They've changed in two ways- the way you mention, but also in the way that my collection is now jammed with things I only saw in books for the first 35 years of collecting.GlensterTX wrote:The starting bid was $499.99 and it closed at over $700! It simply isn’t that rare!

And to think. Before 1980, That record probably sold for peanuts. You’ll never know what records in our collections are gonna be valuable decades from now because it was featured in a popular movie.

Re: Check out this auction
If you think that was crazy, then check this out. There are at least 5 copies that went for even more:
