Columbia Demonstration Record

Post by Wolfe »

One side of a Columbia dealer demo disc, ca. 1915.

I applied reverse RIAA correction, but did no de-noising or anything else, to leave the 'virtues' of the Columbia process to hear, as is.

You'll never want to buy anything else.

I have the same record (on the flip side is "Sleep Kentucky Babe, I believe). I have always been wondering about the slogan "double disc, double value, double wear, double everything except price". Double wear, is that a good thing? It sounds as if that means that Columbia records wear twice as fast as other records!

Gee, that's a good point about the double wear feature.

Perhaps I should abandon my ambition of selling Columbia products and switch over to Edison or something.
