This is one of the best known pieces of Brahms, here in one of Stokowski and the Philadelphia's earliest recordings. Though an acoustic recording, it is apparent he brought a number of string bassists into the studio, although one or more tubas double their parts. As a result, this is something rarely encountered: an acoustic recording with a degree of real bass response, here extending to just below 60 Hz.

Sounds nice! Those Brahms Hungarian dances seem to be quite popular on 78 singles from back when.
