Jazz- Australian style

Post by gramophoneshane »

I'm in the middle of uploading some Aussie records to youtube, and thought I'd share a couple of them here, as most of you have probably never heard of either of these bands.

The first is a jazz band called "Frank Johnson & his Dixielanders" playing "Swing It Out There", on Parlophone no.A7751 from 1950.

And this is "Graeme Bell & His Australian Jazz Band" playing "Chicken & Almonds" on Parlophone no.A7724 from 1949.

Hey Shane, great sides there. Certianly got my toes tapping over here.

One day you'll have to give us all a guided tour of the contents of the inside of your 202. There are various tins and packets on the motor board that I cant quite make out and it woud be good to have a closer look.
