Immortalised in the film of the same name, and also a Broadway smash, here's a recording from deep in the Depression. I found this disc in a used record shop in Springfield, Missouri a couple of years ago. I'm sorry it's not in better shape, but then, to me it's a minor miracle to find a 1933 vintage Victor record in ANY condition!

Great tune and it doesn't sound in too bad a condition either. I find that when I have posted transfers from worn records that the process of encoding them to MP3 and transferring them to Box - well they just seem to sound better for some reason!
There are other great tunes that are hard to find as they were issued during the same depression period when I guess record buying wasn't high on the list of priorities. One that springs to mind is "Its only a paper moon". Now if you can find an early 1930's Paul Whiteman version of that Victor disk you would be doing very well indeed!
