Go Jo should soften the crud on the metalwork, encouraged with a little 0000 steel wool. I use Nev-R-Dull wadding to polish, but MAAS paste is fine too.

Please don't use the GoJo with pumice if you go that route.

I like Blue Magic polish the best on nickel.
