I am currently servicing my third HMV 101 during the last two weeks, and have encountered a mystery ( to me).
I am using the excellent videos of Graham Barber for the service, and have meticulously followed his HMV service videos.
In the videos he is showing 2 different washers, that one need to pay attention to during the service:
1. In the winding shaft
2. On top of the spring barrel
However, during all three services so far, a third washer is dropping out from the motor when disassembling it. The annoyance,
is that I so far have not been able to detect where this third washer is belonging in the motor. It just falls onto the table when disassemmbling
and it happened again today. I have a feeling that it maybe belongs somwhere in the main spring area, but since Graham Barber also not mention this
third washer in his service video, I am so far stuck. I really would like to find out where it belongs, and put it back in its right place after cleaning
the motor parts and before assembling the motor, before I next week start to disassemble the fourth HMV 101.
Thanks in advance, for an input on this.

Hello!
Two equal thin washers are from the wind shaft.

Best regards,
Eugene

Hello Eugene:)
Thanks a lot, that information is much appreciated.
I guess that means they are on top of each other, right?

Hi!
Yes, 2 washers was together when I disassembled motor like yours, but from Columbia 202. Perhaps for better sliding?

Thanks a lot, yes it makes sense..for better sliding:)
You have solved the mystery, that I have been thinking about a lot during
the last weeks. Looking at the motors, I simply could not decide where it belonged:)
