HMV 101 how to fill/restore scratches on leather?

Post by Nigel »

Hello!

I have a Question.

I got a HMV 101 and I want to restore a pinhole, with damage around it (see Pictures).

What could I use best to fill the hole and Dye or color the area around it the same color as the Machine itself?

I would like some tips please.

Any help is appriciated!

Thanks!

The damaged area is so small and inconspicuous that I would simply touch it in with a black felt tip marker pen.

I have to agree. By attempting to disguise this very small hole, you will end up with a larger patch that will draw your attention to it every time you open the lid! Under no circumstances even consider taking a piece of leatherette from a hidden surface and sticking it over the hole, nothing on earth looks worse!!

I've had success with hiding scratches using shoe polish.

Just borrow a black crayon from your kids and cover the hole with it.
