Need Help with Columbia BV Reproducer

Post by Rexophone »

I recently purchased a Columbia BV which needed some minor cleaning. That is the machine with a lyric reproducer built directly into the carriage. But I noticed about two thirds of the material which holds the diaphragm in place is gone, causing the diaphragm to flex and allowing the and needle bar to bump the record. So the rest of the stuff fell out pretty easily, allowing me to remove the diaphragm and clean it up. So what is that stuff that holds the diaphragm in place? How do I replace it? I have tried bee's wax but it doesn't seem to hold on the iron. I looked for another thread on this subject but couldn't find one.

Many thanks,
Steve
