Attempting to remove the 3 spring barrel canisters in order to remove and repair a possible broken spring.
Have removed shaft but there does not appear to be enough room to ease out canisters. The gear canister looks to have a collar that fits into a groove and the other canisters seem nested into each other somehow. Am I missing a trick that makes removal possible???

Usually on those, three spring jobs, one barrel has two notches, and the next has two prongs that go into two notches of the next spring center coil.
