Tutorial - Adding an image to a Forum Post

Post by melvind »

When adding images to a post always upload them to the forum. Do not use an outside source for the image because nearly all outside sources eventually go away or change and the images are no longer available on the post. The "Img" button should not be used because it is intended to link to an image not on the forum. The following shows the correct way to add an image that is hosted on the forum. And, it is free!

Here is a link to a very short concise post showing the same thing in case you find this explanation too long winded. Posting Pictures on this Forum...

When you are editing a new post or reply in the Forum you can add image files using the "Choose File" section below the text edit area.
upload an attachment.png
When you click on "Choose File" the following dialog will come up. You can then find the image file you want to attach to your post and open it.

Once you have chosen the file you must click on "Add the file". Optionally you can enter text in the text box to the left of the "Add the file" button. This text will show up as a caption for the image. Now when you preview or submit your post the image will be attached.

Side Note: One quirk of adding images in this manner is that the images show in reverse order of how you entered them. So, if the order matters you need to enter the image files in reverse order so they show correctly.
