I need help on how to relube my springs..

Post by OldRestorer »

I have a Royal Phono and the springs are clogged. The Phono keeps slowing and then the spring will jump making it play faster. Then do it again and again..
How do I re lube? Do I have to remove the springs?
What do you guys use to lube?

I looked online but did not really know what to look up.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I am a firm believer that the springs should be removed and cleaned. You can inspect them for damage at that time. If you don't clean them, you will probably find yourself asking more questions about why it won't work well.

As Dave states, removal and cleaning is the very best way to go.
