Victrola springs

Post by aledg1982 »

Hi all,
I am restoring a Victor Victrola Motor
I degreased with petroleum all the gears that were stuck with hardened grease, I opened carefully the barrell with my pathologist's gloves and helmet :) and one of the two springs has broken.
Could you please help me finding a new one?
You can see the motor in the pictures.
I saw on ebay a lot of springs but I don'tknow what fits into my motor.
Thank you!!

First, this probably should have been posted to "Yankee Trader" because it is essentially a "wanted" post, not a tip or tutorial.

Having said that, the board's "Links" section has pointers to people who repair phonographs and sell parts. Your best bet for a new spring is probably Ron Sitko, but there are many others who can help.
