Repairing Worn Nickel Finish

Many people have asked about some method to repair nickel plating similar to Rub-N-Buff gold (which is also available in silver leaf by the way, but I have not tried it).

This method works for repairing nickel finishes that don't need total replating, using clock face silvering power (available online).

The powder uses real silver, which matches old nickel finishes, but needs to be topcoated with clear lacquer to retard tarnishing...

For many years, I have used Caswell silver plate. Make sure you get the professional grade. The finish looks like the dull, old nickel. It will only work on brass or copper. The 4 0z bottle lasts a very long time. It will not work on Aluminum, pot metal, steel ,iron, or other types of these metals. They have other plating kits. See link below.
