Help with Edison c-19

Post by djacobsen1 »

Hello recently bought my first machine a Edison c19. After listening my favorite diamond disc that came with the machine, I went to put it in a storage slot in the cabinet. The disc rolled all the way to the back of the machine behind the storage sleeves. What is the best way to retrieve the disc? Also I'm guessing this happened due to the sleeves being crooked and bent. What would be the best way to fix this issue also thanks!!!

The best way to retrieve the record would be to remove the storage rack.

Remove the 4 screws shown in the locations I have circled in RED.

Remove the upper and lower trim pieces from the cabinet (you may have to carefully pry them out of place, they fit tightly, and are probably sealed with the finish. You might have to score the edges where they meet first with a razor blade, so that you don't chip and damage the existing finish on the cabinet and trim pieces).

Once they're removed, there should be a piece of quarter round at the top used as a retainer for the dividers - remove that carefully, too. It's held in place with a couple of brads.

The dividers should be removable now, carefully one at a time by pulling them straight out of their supports. This provides an opportunity to straighten any bent ones before replacing them all.

Here are some images of a completely removed storage assembly from a wrecked cabinet, for reference. The assemblies are NOT easily removed complete from an existing cabinet!

I got it to this point, and figured out the problem is not the dividers but rather the board that was used as a back stop came undone. I've tried removing the inner box, bit im having no luck. I don't see any screws or nails holding it in place. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Here's a cropped image of the best photo I saved on my PC, I hope it helps.

There are 2 or 3 (I don't recall) brads that anchor the wooden stop on each end, to the rear of the frame assembly.

Best,
Fran

There are nails in both sides, into the cabinet, and nails in the bottom.

If you examine my earlier photos, you should be able to see them.

If it's just loose, why not just glue it back in or nail it again?
