Columbia Grafonola 113A

Post by pauline »

I have one of the above in my attic and would like to know how to clean the outer case. I believe it is made from crocodile skin?? Not sure whether this was imported from America and had a different number (160 or 163) over there.

I have the American version of this machine. It's not real crocodile skin, but has that appearance. I used a mild leather cleaner or saddle soap on mine, and when I was done, I used some neutral shoe polish to brighten it up. Mine had been damaged by smoke from a house fire, but it looks pretty respectable now.

Start gently in an inconspicuous spot to make sure the cleaner you have chosen doesn't damage it.
