Glueing back rexine

Post by bart1927 »

Hi all, the title more or less sums it up. I need to glue back a few pieces of rexine that have come loose on my portable gramophone. What kind of glue should I use?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think they originally used hide glue for this. I've restored some early electric portables with a similar covering on the case and just used plain elmer's glue. Hide glue is somewhat thinner so you probably could get away with adding a little water to the elmer's to thin it a bit if you have trouble getting it to spread evenly.
