SOLD: Scarce-Uncle Josh In A Police Court-2Min Wax - $50

Post by FellowCollector »

Very scarce early 2 minute Edison flat ended black wax cylinder: "Uncle Josh In A Police Court" by Cal Stewart. Announced by Cal Stewart himself: "UNCLE JOSH WEATHERSBY IN A POLICE COURT MADE BY MISTER CAL STEWART...Edi-SON REC-ohrd". Surface looks shiny excellent (see pictures). Plays well but with surface noise. This is a very difficult to find recording and it's actually pretty funny too. UJ is in a police court and tells of some of the odd cases brought before the judge. One involves an Irishman (why it appeals to me personally) named "McGuiness" who tells the judge that he's a sailor. The judge looks McGuinness over and says "You sure don't look like you've ever SEEN a SHIP..." to which McGuiness says in an Irish brogue "Well, judge, how do you think I got over here...in a WAGON?". Anyway, it made me smile but I guess you had to hear how Cal Stewart delivered the line. ;) Please send a PM with interest. USPS shipping extra and at cost. Includes an Edison 2 minute GM box and lid.

Thanks!
Doug
