Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!
I am trying to find a tone arm for the Aeolian Vocalion victrola pictured here.
I have been watching ebay for quite a long time with no luck.
I believe the tone arms on these machines were made of potmetal and did not hold up well.
Any leads or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Someone mentioned trying a universal (generic?) tone arm.
Thank you,
Gene

Re: Wanted: Tone arm for Aeolian Vocalion
Good luck with finding one. I think you'll need it.
Have you tried George Vollema?
IMO, these are probably the worst designed tonearm around, due to the combination of the pin that holds the tonearm together & the now fragile pot metal.
Parts for Aolian Vocalion were supplied by Thorens, so another Thorens arm designed for use with a 12" turntable will work, but you'll loose your automatic brake, as I'm not aware of another Thorens design that has the same auto brake connection.
If you do find a replacement, you'll have to make sure it is VERY well packed for postage.
