Wayne NJ Machines for sale

Post by Ripduf1 »

Hi Members,
Here are some machines I intend to bring to the April 14th Wayne NJ Show. VV-VIII, VV-XI, Vic II Humpback, Vic VV-50 (weathered oak), really nice Edison Standard A Green w Cool crane and Horn. I will also bring various parts and horns. My booth is located on the far wall away from the entrance next to Charlie Hummel. I hope you can make it.

I have also invested in professional band instrument repair tools and offer the services for rolling and straightening at reasonable prices and in a timely fashion. I have attached a before and after image of a pretty extreme horn that I was able to save. There are some size limitations to the equipment so please get in touch with me before delivering a horn to me. Bring them to the show and I can return them to Wayne in October or ship them to you ASAP. $30 for diameters 13" or less, $60 for diameters greater than 13". "Special case" horns will require a quote. Thanks and see you there! John Duffy 860-966-2827

John,

I'm very pleased to see you have become involved in horn straightening and polishing. That's a wonderful service to the hobby, and I hope collectors will take advantage of it. Your prices are reasonable too!

Now, if I can put on my cranky grandma outfit... The abbreviation "Vic" was originally used to denote Victors with external horns, while "VV" (Victor-Victrola) denoted internal horn machines. These abbreviations are still useful today. I fear that novice collectors, trying to adhere to these time-honored abbreviations, may become confused when presented with mixed types all referred to as "Vics." Now don't make me use this ruler on your knuckles, young man!

See you at Wayne!

If you mean the last Wayne show posting I had - both those cabinets were purchased at the show.

Another lesson learned - I will update the old listing. :D

Oh,I agree with you.

I can't identify it as a Herzog. I have never seen any Herzogs with slab wood sides, door and top without quarter sawn oak.
