Does anyone know what this goes to. Looks like a combo reproducer/recorder stylus and diaphragm.

Good question... it almost has a homemade look to it, like somebody was trying to combine a Pathé and standard stylus in one.rizbone wrote:Does anyone know what this goes to. Looks like a combo reproducer/recorder stylus and diaphragm.

I'll be interested to hear what anyone else has to share, myself.

I believe that's from a Commercial Graphophone/Dictaphone.

I just love all of the knowledge on this forum! This reminds me a bit of the "What is it?" segment on the Ask this Old House television series.edisonphonoworks wrote:Dictaphone combination recorder reproducer.
While I am old enough to remember dictaphones on a personal level, the ones we trained on (which were outdated technology by about 25 years at the time, but what our high school could afford) were on belts. When I worked my first job, they used "modern" magnetic tape.

For future reference when it is long gone from eBay, here is what's being discussed.

For that price it would be worth removing stylus & cutter to recycle to a good recorder OR reproducer!

Maybe, but Commercial Graphophones/Dictaphones record/play at 150 tpi, so the styli dimensions might not be correct.ehs004 wrote:For that price it would be worth removing stylus & cutter to recycle to a good recorder OR reproducer!

Maybe someone should send it to a forensic scientist with a micrometer for further evaluation !!
