I visited the home of a friend in Lebanon, Oregon and he's selling his two remaining machines. The best one is his Automatic Panatrope with Radio. Unfortunately, the long legs were removed but the rest appears to be very nice. He says the radio works but the phonograph needs attention. I saw this machine working in his home perhaps twenty years ago and it was amazing. You put on a stack of 10" 78s. It pulls the bottom record onto the turntable and the tone arm moves into position and plays the record. When finished a rotating rubber wheel comes up, makes contact with the record, and sends it down a shoot where they pile up. I remember watching the whole sequence and being impressed. I don't believe pot metal is the issue as I did not notice pot metal parts. Perhaps a more knowledgeable person could correct me if I'm wrong. PLEASE DO.
Delivery is possible to 2018 Union or APS.
Please PM with any interest or questions.
Thanks, Jerry Blais

The only pot metal parts are the motor mounts.

I thought it looked a little strange, without it's legs
Probably cut off in the late forties when legs weren't in style.

If anyone is interested in seeing a restored example of this machine running, I have recently finished the restoration of mine and made a video. The changer mechanism is a marvel of engineering!

Actually, that video inspired me to buy this one. hope you don't mind if I pepper you with questions about mine once I can get started on it. I'll need to replicate the legs. Need to learn how to use the ShopSmith!Energ15 wrote:If anyone is interested in seeing a restored example of this machine running, I have recently finished the restoration of mine and made a video.
