Up for trade is a 1922 Waltham pocket watch of admittedly minimal value. 7 jewel, movement No. 24258795. Art Deco Waltham metal dial, but the problem with the watch is, it's in a really old Dueber Champion case, engraved sides & back, and has been there since 1946. The old thing ticks great, but is missing a minute hand & crystal and will need a good cleaning & oiling.
I have no idea if the case is silver. It looks like silver colored but I can't tell. Let's assume it isnt.
It'll make a cool-looking old watch when restored. Consider it always time to hunt for phonograph stuff.
Open to trade for 2 minute cylinders, Blue Amberols, or common-title 78s of the 1910s, or 14" B&B horn. Repro or original horn OK.

Not to get off-topic too much here, but could you
please tell me who charges $60 for the cleaning
of a pocketwatch movement?
The parts prices which you listed are also very
reasonable.
I currently own 3 antique pocketwatches, and they
all need cleaning and oiling because it's been well over
30 years since last time. But, looking around at prices
these days gets me thinking that, yet again, they've
succeeded in making old pocketwatches another very
pricey endeavor.

Re: TRADE:-antique pocketwatch for 14" B&B Horn or Old Recor
I was thinking to do the work myself. It's cheap because the watch isn't very valuable and because I've never done more horology than setting old wind-up alarms back in beat. I don't even own watchmaker's tools, but was going to get some & fix my watches & an old clock that's been in the family.
The only reason I have the Waltham is because I wanted to learn watchmaking--at least enough to service my regular pocket watch, an antique watch, and my great-grandfather's watch. They need cleaned & oiled and that's about as far as I want to get into watch repairing.
But then I thought of its trade potential for phonogoodies.

If you have a picture of this fine timepiece, I might be interested. Besides being interested in the phonographs for years, I have also collected and repaired watches for 28 years...
