FOR SALE: Columbia Client Phonograph--$775

Post by Phono-Phan »

I have for sale a Columbia Client phonograph. It is all original and the horn is very straight with no dents to speak of. It just needs a good polish. I polished a small area and it shines bright. I don't know much about these models so I hope someone else can chime in on it. The pot-metal parts are in great condition. I am asking $775 plus shipping. Contact me for more pictures or with any questions. Thanks!!

It's an unusual machine with hard to find and original parts. The striking feature is the bracket, arm, and elbow. These parts are extremely hard to find in decent condition. The pot metal breaks or gets swollen. The horn is very nice, too. So is the unmarked reproducer. This is a very late machine from about 1915 possibly the 20's. By this time Columbia was concentrating on the Grafonola machines. This machine is probably a clearance of parts. It is not a Franken-Phone, but a legitimate late horned machine. I checked all my Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Speigel catalogs, but did not see it. This is definitely a mail order machine or made for some music store, furniture stores or the like. Possibly this is a premium machine because of the obsolete parts. The price on this machine is very fair, considering the unusual parts. Good luck with the sale.

I feel myself drooling...Late 1910s sound quality meets early-1900s Graphophone style, how could it go wrong?
Someone's going to get the machine and like it.
