Is the "original mandrel" an original? How much more? How much is the total package?rgordon939 wrote:The price of $1400 is for the machine as shown. The price does not include shipping charges.
I do have the original mandrel and feedscrew and a 5” carriage which I would sell separately.

The mandrel is the original mandrel from this machine. Here’s a picture.
I’d take $2100.00 the package.

It's a wonderful example, but why sell the machine apart from its original 5" Concert mandrel and carriage? Seems a bit extreme to separate the parts from it after all these years.

Re: FOR SALE (still): Edison Concert Phonograph - Now - $110
Well this is the first for me. The Fireside I shipped last week by UPS was destroyed. I think it was dropped from the third floor. Because of that I just could not bring myself to ship the Concert machine to the buyer on the Forum , just to big and heavy. I felt bad for the Forum member and truly appreciate his understanding.
I have now changed the listing to indicate that it is still FOR SALE but I will not ship the machine. It can be picked up at my place or at the Wayne Show in April.

Good call Rich! It's a real shame that the Fireside
machine had to be sacrificed to the gorillas at UPS
in order to make you realize that shipping machines
is VERY risky business.
The boxes get thrown and dropped off of ends of conveyors
into bins containing other boxes. If a shipment is
unlucky enough to be on the bottom when another
very heavy shipment falls on top of it, the bottom
one gets damaged.
Throw them. Drop them. Run them over with the truck
a few times just for good measure. All in a day's
work for the retards at UPS and USPS.
