SOLD: HOT Edison #51852 JOE CANDULLO "BROWN SUGAR"-$150

Post by FellowCollector »

Recorded in Edison's New York studio on October 5, 1926 and featuring 21 year old (!) Red Nichols on trumpet, this is a hot jazz Edison Diamond Disc record #51852 from my collection for your consideration.

This record is in shiny Excellent condition and plays fantastic.

It features one of my all time favorite Edison jazz recordings, "BROWN SUGAR" Fox Trot by Joe Candullo and His Everglades Orchestra. The arrangement and solos on this particular recording are simply awesome.

So we have Edison Diamond Disc #51852:

"BROWN SUGAR" Fox Trot by Joe Candullo and His Everglades Orchestra (fantastic start to finish with outstanding individual instrument solos!)

-and- (another wonderful side!)

"I FOUND A MILLION DOLLAR BABY (IN A FIVE AND TEN CENT STORE)" Fox Trot by Jack Albin's Orchestra

Here is a video on YouTube (not mine) featuring "Brown Sugar" by Joe Candullo and His Orchestra that will give you an idea of how absolutely wonderful this particular recording is:

Again, both sides are in excellent condition and play great. One small edge flake on the L-side affects nothing.

PM with interest. Thanks.

Doug
