Here's something you don't see every day: an original tinfoil phonograph in superb original condition. It was made by the well-known scientific instrument maker Eugène Ducretet around 1881. Ducretet went on to become "the father of radio" in France. His phonographs are widely known and well documented. This is one of his earliest examples.
The condition is exceptional for its age, and it is in good working condition. It is one of only a few Ducretet machines known with a flywheel.
