For Sale: Columbia BD/AR Disc Phonograph - $1650 OBO

For sale, a beautiful original Columbia model AR phonograph. Although it looks like a Columbia BD, it was originally a front mount which was often converted to rear mount. The nickel back bracket and arm are in great shape. The notice sticker on the bottom says “AR.” The phonograph (very well built and heavy) has been restored, plays very smoothly. Everything is original (except the turntable felt). It has a 12” turntable and the Columbia older plunger speed control and on/off lever. The decals are original. The Columbia nickel horn is in great shape as shown in the photos. The 3-spring motor is the most powerful phonograph motor I have ever seen. On a test wind it ran for over 20 minutes. The reproducer has new rubber gaskets. I have provided large close-up photos which show the beautiful mahogany and sharp details in the case. There is some veneer chipping on one side of the lid. A new owner can easily make this repair if desired. $1650 OBO
