I might also have a nickeled arm with bracket from a similar era X. Not sure if it would work, but if Matt's isn't right send me a PM

I was finally able to check my VV-IX and it has the smaller tonearm.

I think the early Victrola IX used the tone arm that was featured in Mike's photo. I remember seeing a IX with a bullet brake so it must have been a very early IX. Jerry

Here is a photo of my early IX (serial # 29,XXX). Hope this helps.

This tone arm measures 1 ⅝" at the base. The black back bracket is a two piece design (trim ring around the main pillar)

My tonearm may not be correct, but according to Victor Data Book the tone arm on a machine in his serial # range would have had an overhang support. The earliest ones didn’t, but his isn’t that early.
