FOR SALE - Victor Victrola VV-XXV Schoolhouse Phono - $1400

Post by brianu »

This is a nice, super clean unrestored example of the later version Victor schoolhouse phonograph, the type with the removable lid and hinged lower shelf... this one is MISSING THE HORN, but otherwise it's totally complete... runs fine, oak finish is great... shows some light wear around the edges and appears to have been previously stored for a while in a damp environment, as the veneer is lifting in a few spots, mainly on the sides, and the lower shelf is slightly bowed. Even as is, though, this is an extremely presentable example. I know of a few horns available in the 800 to 1000 range and can refer you to those sellers if you'd like.

If interested, send me a message or email brianu73 at hotmail. This is located in southern NJ near Philadelphia, PA, I can also bring it to the next Wayne phonograph show in April.

And I apologize, as I'm just realizing this is the only photo I have of this machine. I'll take some more and post them this weekend.

Brian, you said: "I know of a few horns available in the 800 to 1000 range and can refer you to those sellers if you'd like."

Please see if they would mind providing me with dimensions and location of the horn decal.

Thanks.

I remember you asking about this before, I was having trouble measuring with the damaged smooth oak horn, set it aside and then I completely forgot about your request. Apologies. I have an original speartip horn on my other schoolhouse machine... it’s a 21.5 inch diameter horn at the opening, and from the edge of the opening’s rim, the dead center of the decal is 4 inches in at the 1:00 position when viewing the horn from the front, in playing position. I hope that helps.

I’d be glad to do a package deal as well with the Edison A-250 I’m also selling...
