Found: Decent Model D or F Edison Standard Bedplate

Post by Dave D »

UPS destroyed a motor and bedplate that was shipped to me poorly packaged. I think I can salvage much of it, but the bedplate is shot.

I have a Standard D bed plate I would sell. I also have a motor less governor and spring barrel if needed.

Not a helpful post at all... more of a rant, but...

I just don't understand why so many sellers are just in love with UPS. They're the most expensive game in town it seems, but what's worse is that UPS gorillas could break an anvil. They are amazingly creative in damaging things even when they ARE well packed.

I agree totally! When the guy sent me the UPS tracking number I said I hope it arrives safely. I was totally smashed.

hello all,
correct , never use ups on any phonograph shipping . i sell a lot of phonograph items all over the world for the last 30 years and ups is the worst as they will destroy any package that is heavy ....they do not care and will charge you a insurance fee but will not honor it..but the worst part they destroy a great part of history with these great machines....
now to point i have bed plates in stock and just email me if your still looking.
kind regards,
mark and d'arcy
