Well, I've owned and parted with Type A #164 and now here is what I assume to be a late production Washington DC Type A, in the 56000 serial block. This A includes the very original flared cone horn and gutta percha reproducer/recorder set that came with it. The latter are in excellent shape with both styli present and original glass diaphragms. I haven't touched them for rebuilding as the glass will probably break when they are opened up. I tested the recorded and it does a fairly good job. The top works gearing is silent and the motor makes noise despite looking like it was hardly used. The early Columbia box is just for another display here however I can probably dig up another one if desired.
