WANTED: Spindle for Paillard No. 175 motor

Post by burke »

I have recently disassembled my No. 175 motor [from a red Paillard Suitcase] and found the fiber gear on the spindle is pretty chewed up.

I see no way to remove the gear so I'm assuming I need the whole spindle.

Failing that whole No175 motor with a good fiber gear. The spindle is
4 ¼ inches long and the gear is 1 inch in diameter.

I've tried a few supply houses and there are two still looking, one in the US and the other is a fellow Canadian.

I found this youtube video about a fancier version of mine, but if you go about 12 minutes he discusses the very dilemma I'm having.

Would any of you know and/or have contact info for this gentleman?

He might be the guy with 2 or 3 of these gears rattling around in a drawer.

Thanks

Darrell

BTW
Here is image I found online of the motor ... I would be interested in a complete one as well if available or a similar single spring type ... Thorens perhaps?
