FOR SALE: Edison Needle Cut #14066-Dalton 7 Blue Babies-$150

Post by FellowCollector »

"IF I GIVE UP THE SAXOPHONE (WILL YOU COME BACK TO ME?)" by Jack Dalton And The 7 Blue Babies -AND- "SERGEANT FLAGG AND SERGEANT QUIRT" by Billy Murray and Walter Scanlan.

Both sides are in nice playing condition and each side plays beautifully, crisp and clear. Scattered light scratches.

By the time the Flagg and Quirt recording was made (1929) Billy Murray and Walter Scanlan were very near the twilight of their recording careers. Their voices on this recording are noticeably older sounding (ie. lower) relative to the youthful voices we're all familiar with in their earlier recordings. Both sides are very enjoyable and well recorded. In spite of Edison's formidable losses in disc record sales at this time (almost a half million dollars) I've always admired the quality of these recordings.

PM with interest. USPS Media extra and at cost. Thanks.

Doug
