For Sale (UK): Superb Original HMV 163 Re-Entrant Gramophone

Post by kirtley2012 »

Beautiful original condition, this is an exquisite example of the smallest of HMV's top of the line double Re-Entrant models, the sound given off is wonderful, only surpassed by very few machines, some slight weathering to the top of the lid but nothing major.

The fretwork and grille cloth are untouched and pristine, the original cabinet finish is wonderful giving a very nice look to the machine.
It comes with it's original 5a soundbox, which also has it's original box, the metal back is perfect, no pot metal worries with this one and it's been serviced and is sounding wonderful.

It is fitted with an HMV 32 double spring motor which has also been serviced to remove the old grease and re-oiled, giving a nice smooth working.

A very rare feature is the original instruction manual.
This is a relatively early example, the serial number just over 900, giving this machine an approximate date of 1929, following the models introduction in 1928

Collection from North Shields, North Tyneside, though I'm happy for someone to collect it on your behalf

Asking £650 ono

I might be interested in trades or exchanges too, something like a good rear mount horn machine, or an Edison Triumph or suitcase home
