1. Victor D-15, Higher Fidelity Demo Record, Tommy Dorsey Orch "Who?"/ "Song of India". Uncommon issue of two great sides- Bunny Berigan's trumpet really shines in these hi- fi pressings. Visual V+, plays great! $30 now $25

2. Sunset 1061, The Californiacs "Indian Dawn" / "Oh Katharina". Rare 1920s Hollywood CA label. V+ plays great $40

3. Victor 20819, Shilkret and Victor Orch w/ Johnny Marvin, "Dew Dew Dewey Day" / Johnny Hamp KY Jelly Serenaders w/ Franklyn Baur "Is It Possible". V+, great player $10 now $5

4. Columbia 1540-D, Art Gilham (Red Nichols A) "Right Or Wrong" / "It's Never Too Late To Be Sorry", V+ plays super! $25

5. Victor 21274, Paul Whiteman, "From Monday On" / "Mississippi Mud". Bix, Tram, Bing, Belle Mann! Visual V due to scuff wear and light scratches, but little groove wear. Great player! $15 now $10

6. Columbia 2258-D, Bert Lown Hotel Biltmore Orch "Under The Moon It's You" / "Bye Bye Blues". "Under the moon" is a super hot number with a vocal trio that spares the listener the high pitched warbly blues. Even if you regularly pass by Lown's records as I do this one is for sure worth a spot on the shelf. V+, plays E, $25

7. Challenge 253, Lou Gold and the Melody Men, "Ain't She Sweet" / "You Should See My Tootsie". A side is very fun, B is an absolute scorcher! Way hotter than any other Lou Gold record, ever. It's the only time I am aware that Gold used "Melody Men" to describe his outfit. This is a real outlier. V+ to maybe E--, off Gennett Electrobeam so the pressing and engineering could be better quality... but oh SO worth it. $50

8. Victor V-38038, Johnny Dodd's Orchestra, "Sweet Lorraine" / "Pencil Papa". Side A isn't the syrupy 1930- ish ballad... it's a Natty Dominique composition.
V+, plays E. Great scarce stuff $75

9. Gennett New Electrobeam 6158, Elmer Grosso Orch. "Wandering In Dreamland" / "In A Shady Nook By A Babbling Brook, V+, great player! Electrobeams are tough to find! $50

Round 2:

10. Bluebird "Staff" B-7853, Glenn Miller Orch. "My Reverie" (Ray Eberle) / "KING PORTER STOMP", Glenn's first Bluebird and a real tough one to find- King Porter is very jazzy for Glenn, too! E+, fantastic player, $35 now $25

11. Columbia 1741-D, Brownagle and his Orch., "Helen" / "A Night Of Memories". Two of the three issued sides by this PA territory (if memory serves) band. Visual V+, great player. $30 now $25

12. Royal Blue Columbia 3086-D, Jacques Renard Orch. "I'd Rather Listen To Your Eyes" (Smith Ballew)/ "I'd Love To Take Orders From You" (Chick Bullock). Rare late Royal Blue from September 1935. End of the line for Jacques Renard's prewar recording career. Visual scuffy E-, plays better. $30 now $25

13. Gennett New Electrobeam 6100, (Hymie) Faberman Inst. Quartet "Moonbeam Kiss Her For Me" / "Jimmy Carr Orch. "I'll Always Remember You". Solid V+ with the usual Gennett pressing and audio engineering foibles. $35 now $30

14.Victor V-40049, Slim Lamar's Southerners, "Oriental Illusions" / "I'm Glad It Was Somebody Else" (v. Bob Nolan). Solid V+, edge flake A to first groove, good player, scarce, $35 now $30

15. Victor 21398, Paul Whiteman Orch. "You Took Advantage Of Me" / "Do I Hear You Saying" Visual V little +, plays much better. Bix, Tram, Bing! Great A! Yea, man. $15 now $10

16. Electradisk 1911, Pennsylvania Collegians, "Save A Rainy day For Me" / "One Little Word Led To Another". VERY scarce early Depression dance on the short- lived RCA predecessor label to Bluebird. 1932- only smaller labels. E, plays wonderfully $35 now $30

17. Columbia 793-D, The Radiolites (Ben Selvin), "SUNDAY" / "If I'd Only believed In You". Great hot version of "Sunday"! Charles Kaley vocals. Visual E-, scratch B not affecting play- Glorious player! $20 now $15

18. Electrola 2736, New Yorkers Dance Orch. (Gene Kardos) Dick Robertson Vocal "CRAZY PEOPLE!" / Ambrose "Happy Go Lucky You". SMOKIN' hot A. Personal opinion- I am NOT a fan of Dick Robertson and will usually avoid his records on principle but there are a few exceptions and this is one of them. the Kardos band has it together here and swings like mad, too. Great stuff on a superior German pressing, pressed just before the Nazis outlawed fun. E, plays like new. $30 now $20

And still more:

19. Challenge 257 (off Gennett Electrobeam), BRAD GOWANS Orch (as "Twin Cities Dance Orch") "I'm Looking Over A 4 Leaf Clover" / "Sunny Hawaii". Don't let the second title fool ya- it's HOTTER than A! Talk about a scarce one! V+ to E-, plays great! $75 now $60

20. Royal Blue Columbia 2921-D, Earl Burtnett Drake Hotel Orch., "Waitin' At The Gate For Katy" / "Ridin' Around In The Rain. End of a very good line for Burtnett on record. Great tunes, too. E, plays that or better $30 now $25

21. Columbia 1694-D, Ipana Troubadors (Sam Lanin Orch) with uncredited early BING CROSBY vocals- "I'll Get By" / "Rose Of Mandalay". Visual V, plays far better. Iconic early Crosby sides, and the Lanin band is no slouch, either $20 now $15

22. GEM 3209 (very scarce 1932 Crown variant) Frank Novak Orch. "I've Told Every Little Star" / "More Beautiful than Ever". Elmer Feldkamp vocals. Visual E, plays great! $40 now $35

23. Gennett Electric 3409, Felix Ferdinando Orch. "MY BABY KNOWS HOW" / Joe Green's Spanish Serenaders "In A Little Spanish Town". This is NOT an Electrobeam... it's a scarce relic of Gennett's failed FIRST attempt at electrical recording in 1926. Visual V+ that plays better- edge flake A not affecting play. $30 now $25

24. Columbia 2218-D, Rube Bloom and his Bayou Boys "ON REVIVAL DAY" (Roy Evans) / "There's A Wah- Wah Girl In Augua Caliente" (Eddie Walters). Benny Goodman is in residence here along with Tommy Dorsey, Adrian Rollini, Dick McDonough, Stan King. Needless to say... it'll burn the house down. V to V+ that plays almost E with a long lam crack A that doesn't sound. $45 now $35

25. Bluebird B-10036, Boots Douglas and his Buddies Orchestra, "East Commerce Stomp" / "Careless Love". October 1938 and the final session for this superb but short lived San Antonio territory band. Fantastic stuff, E+ that plays like new. $40 now $35

26. Electradisk 2092- Ernie Holst and his Hotel Lexington Orch. "Dinner At Eight" / "Bless Your Heart" Edith Caldwell vocal B. Extremely scarce Depression dance on one of the last ED issues before the switch to Bluebird. Unusually gorgeous copy that looks and plays NM, $45 now $35
