As the title says I'm looking for a cygnet horn for an Edison Fireside phonograph.
I am not entirely sure what these things are worth but it's a lot, so I'm going to say I'm fine with rust and dust and junk as well as well-preserved originals you're tired of looking at.
I don't have a crane for it either...if you have a crane or a piece of one then let me know. Hopefully I can make it to the swapmeet in North Carolina Saturday.
EDIT:
I may have found a horn bell and a crane. If you know of an old elbow for one of these, please let me know.
FOUND: Edison cygnet elbow.

Charles, Ron Sitko makes a very nice reproduction crane for cygnet horns for a very reasonable price.

Bump!
Still looking...
The elbow is the hard bit to find these days.

Re: WANTED: Edison cygnet elbow.
I've been watching that. However, it's 3 days out and already at $104--my goodness, how expensive do Edison machines ever get?!?
Fortunately I got to hear some machines yesterday thanks to the great collector Charlie Floyd, who has a great number of Edisons that are "Cygnet Equipped." While he says that the main criteria for a good cylinder machine is the reproducer, I think the cygnet horn just sounds better--makes the old horn-type Firesides and Standards sound incredible. It filtered the crackling and popping and gave the music a purer tone...
I do like to sample different phonos, but the cygnet machine makes me want to sit down and sample different records!

Don't worry Kevan, down here "all bound round with the Mason-Dixon Line" we've got pennies in every car ashtray. Means I can take it.
Needs a lot of paint and dents pulled. With a quick Swipe payment, it's going to soon be a Fireside horn elbow.
