FOR SALE: NICE G&T New Style No. 3 Trademark $2150 Shipped!

Post by gramophone-georg »

Here's a restored G&T New Style No. 3 Gramophone- the last (and arguably the best) of the Berliner Trademark machines.

What makes this model stand out from the others is a larger spring (in an elongated/ flattened housing) and an ingenious brake/ speed control device that allows the user to play the "new" 8, 9, and 10" records.

Yes, there are some historically accurate reproduction parts here. This machine was a poor amateur restoration that's been made better. It's built to use... and with the long throat G&T Exhibition upgrade it sounds just as good as it looks. (I'll supply a couple nice automotive hose clamps for the leather elbow until someone reproduces originals again).

The two "weak" spots here are the spring housing that was quite corroded, but has been soldered and plated to be quite presentable and the brass horn, which has minor tarnish and dings (tarnished especially down the throat but not noticeable unless you look down it with a light). Blow up the pictures to see the high res details of these areas.

If you've always wanted a nice Patent machine for your collection but don't want to break the bank, and you'd like to be able to USE it too this is the one for you.

It comes with a nice little stack of G&T 7" records as a bonus.

$2150.00 including shipping

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Note: Zwebie PMd me to say that he's fairly certain the horn is a reproduction. If it is, it's extremely well made and has what appears to be some fairly significant age on it.

Final Bump

How many Trademark machines can play 10" records and have spring power left over? :D

Interested in possible trades for a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation changers in Victor Victrolas or RAE machines in working condition.

Arm, crank hold- down, leather elbow, and most likely the horn.

Oh, and the felt.

Decal is from Gregg Cline.

Looks like you need a clamp for the horn elbow. I have perfect European Berliner replicas if interested.
