That is a gorgeous machine. I once had a VV-XVIII in American walnut, a very beautiful machine also. Personally,I think I prefer American to circassian walnut.

It looks terrific. That has to be some of the most dramatic American Walnut I've seen. Jerry Blais

Beautiful machine with fantastic figuring! Could be the jewel in the crown for many collections. Have to agree that a well figured American Walnut machine like this has potential to be more elegant than some of the Circassian machines where the grain can sometimes be quirky. Although must admit that the quirkiness itself can be interesting too.

I think that the 130 in American Walnut is about as nice as it gets. I have a 120 in American Walnut and a 130 in Oak, (my favorite machine). This would be a great addition if you weren't so far away. Good luck with the sale. I hope it sells before I start thinking too much.

Fran,

Thank you and Yes it would look nice with your dining room set. It is currently in my dining room where the set is cherry and does not blend well. Also in that room is a VV-XVIII, VV 8-35, and RAE 26 and the 130. Too many machines in the dining room and none of them really blend well with the furniture. I won't part with the XVIII (already parted with one and won't repeat the mistake) & the RAE 26, and my wife won't part with the 8-35, so the 130 got nominated to be set free.

Can't make a bigger house, so......

I got this machine a few years ago from Jerry and spent a few months on the restoration. I've been very pleased with the result. The most figured veneer on a machine that I own. All the rest are standard finishes, mostly mahogany.

Thanks,

Matt

Gorgeous machine! I bet that motor is pretty quiet too, looking at the speed indicator it looks like a nice burton style motor is probably in there.

In my opinion American Walnut trumps Circassian Walnut, and either trump Oak or Mahogany.

Best of luck with the sale.
