SOLD: E.M GINN Reproducer - 250USD

Post by Cape 1 »

For sale a E.M GINN reproducer in box. This reproducer has been in storage for over 30 years. It would require a rebuild. With this comes a
base for a second E.M. GINN reproducer. This reproducer is sold on as I don't have need for it.

The cast chromed soundbox looks like a Meltrope No. 3.

Yes it does, and being chrome it is probably a post war version made by Decca after they acquired the rights to the Meltrope design. They were fitted to most of their post war portables.

If it is only being sold for spares, the Decca's rubber coupling might be a suitable replacement for the perished example on the 4-spring Expert.

Two of the three screw fixings on the Expert's front mask have broken and have been repaired by soldering.

If the 1200 asking price is in South African Rands (the seller's location is Cape Town) it equals a bargain GBP£66 at the current exchange rate of 0.055.

Priced in Rands that would make the G&T Style 6 the gentleman is also selling very tempting!

The posts have been edited to clarify the prices. They are in US$, which makes a lot more sense.
