Very competent playing by Lloyd Keating and His Music (pseud. for Ben Selvin, Phil Spitalny, Fred Rich and others at various times; I don't know who "Lloyd" is on this one. My ancient volume of Rust doesn't list this record) enhances one of the scarce and short-lived "Five-Minute" purveyed by the dime-store labels in 1931-'32. Why Did It Have to be Me? features a vocal chorus by Dick Robertson; vocal by Glenn Cross on An Evening in Caroline.

The disc is a solid VG+, and plays very well throughout with little background noise. I've only played it a couple of times because with grooves as tight as needed for longer selections, more play with something as heavy as an Orthophonic reproducer = more wear. To me, though it's certainly an enjoyable listen, this record is more of an artifact and marker of tech attempts to squeeze more music onto a 78.

$30.00 includes shipping, properly boxed, via Media Mail in the lower 48.

Please leave a note in the thread if PM-ing me, so I'll know to sign in.
