FOUND - Victrola Knife Pivot Hinge

Post by Polyphone »

Hi, Does anyone have a few later Victrola Knife Pivot Hinges that they can sell or trade me. I am looking for the style 2 that has a 130 degree profile (and not the one with the ~100 degree profile). Please see the attached pics.

I have a parts bins full of them that I cannot find in my garage shop.....it's too cold!

Thank you, Ken

Ken,

If you identify the Victor model, serial number and hinge locations i can help expand the search by looking up which machines used these same hinges. Some of the later hinges like the ones on the 9-55 are peculiar to only that one model, Others hinges are generally used. Many of the later hinges have a built in stay like the one you pictured to limit opening. Often the stay is broken but the hinges is otherwise functional.

Typically the hinges are specific for the top or bottom location and which door they are intended for so we’ll need that information as well.

Ken,

The large door (L D) and small door (S D) use different hinges in the lower right position. I’ve included both right hand (R H) part numbers here. These are correct for your serial number. The rightmost column in the “where used” information. Be careful, this can be misleading sometimes because it doesn’t specify which serial number it is used on and there were frequent changes. The good news is that the hinge you need looks to be fairly common.

A cut and dimensions are included which will hopefully help with your search. The E in the part number refers to the painted finish “enameled”.

Good Luck,
Mark

The designer of these hinges must have hated his Tool Maker!!! LOL So, if I were to take a BWAG from the scale Ken has laying next to the hinge, it is the 1-23/32" hinge?
