HELP...I Need A Columbia Motor Quick!

Post by SonnyPhono »

I know this is a shot in the dark, but...I am desperate for a motor to replace the one currently in a table top Columbia I have. It belongs to a friend of mine who is from out of town and he is picking up in a couple weeks. I would love to have it running for him when he comes to get it.

I have tried everything to get it running, (literally 15 or 20 hours of tinkering) to no avail. The ends of the governor shaft are worn and are loose in the bearings they fit into. One of the gears is worn too far to work properly. The springs are weak and need replaced, etc. Rather than buy all the components I am looking for a complete replacement. I would think someone may have a motor laying around as they are common machines.

Below is a picture of the phonograph and one of the motor I need. Does anyone have a spare they would be willing to sell or possibly trade? If so, please send me a PM. Thanks!!

Saw this today on Ebay.

Not sure if it's correct or not. Can't see all sides
Thought I'd at least let you know about it.

If you were not looking for one of those motors you'd probably be tripping over one.
