OWNERS OF XIV Model D, I need information from you!
IF YOU OWN AN XIV Model DI need the casting numbers for an XIV Model D close to SN 31802D. I need the horn, and this would help me tremendously in finding the correct horn I am amassing a collection of horns at this time - I really only need the one. Thanks

Do you mean a Victrola XIV internal horn? Otherwise, "XIV ModelD" means nothing.

I think he has a nearly complete Victrola and needs the horn. He has tried several horns but none is the exact fit. If someone can provide the casting number from a horn on a similar Victrola, he can focus his search on that particular horn.

whatever the word - model, version or type - the type D (there were several and the horn sizes varied), of the model XIV. not to seem contrary, but the request seemed plain enough.

D is the motor type. You can see it on the ID plate.

no, D designates the version of that particular model - I believe there were more than a dozen versions (or types) of the model XIV as the company updated it during its lifespan with different reproducers, motors, horns, cabinet styles, etc. you're correct though that the type (be it D or E or whatever) appears on the identification plate.

Sorry, I confused it with my Kowalski Model XIV. It's customary to mention the brand along with the model.

kowalski? this is an antique phonograph or talking machine forum, most would recognize "model XIV" as referencing a victrola.
