Interesting Facts:
I haven't been able to find any advertisements or images of this model with this particular grill. It is a Canadian model made in Canada, but I'm not sure if that explains the difference.
Now that I'm looking at the pictures, I'm wondering if the grill was installed upside down at some point?
The record storage slats were removed at some point in the machines history, but it retains the original record index on the inside of the left door. It has been cleaned but this is it's original finish which is surprisingly been well preserved.
I really like the red velour-like turntable felt and soundbox holder. It's actually a pretty impressive cabinet and is very deeply carved in the corners.
This machine also had remnants of the original grill fabric which was gold in colour.

I've seen this case carving on another model. Looks like a mid to upper range model. The women in the ad seem to like it.... .

That's a beautiful cabinet. It reminds me of a Victrola XIV on steroids. Very classy. I agree that the grille looks upside-down, but that wouldn't prevent me from buying one!

Beautiful machine !
( I too, would suggest that the grille is upside-down: the center decoration appears to be a stylized rendition of a Lyre ( ancient harp ), usually the "open" end of the Lyre points up. )
Are all early Brunswick horns "squared" ? I'm used to the horns with the rounded opening...

I agree its a very attractive model. Probably near the top of the line if you compare it to the uprights of the latter designs. The early brunswicks I have seen or owned had a square horn. Looks strange to see the older type tone arm as well being used to the Ultona design. I would love to have a machine like it! The only thing better is the Walnut version which I think someone here got off craigs list a few years ago.

Beautiful machine. I saw one of these at auction a couple of years ago, in oak, and it was really stunning.
