Exhibition Reproducer Serial Numbers

I have an early 1907 VTLA, s/n 3XXX. The gold Exhibition reproducer has a round hole needle chuck, round head adjustment screws with knurled locknuts and a serial number of 244837. From information given by the seller when I bought the machine, I have every reason to believe that the reproducer is original to the machine.

I have an HMV machine with an early HMV Exhibition soundbox with round hole for needles.
The label states that it was made 18/12/19 (OK rearange the first two numbers in the US) but it has no serial No that I can find.
Where are the numbers normally found?.

On mine, the numbers are stamped into the metal back plate near the perimeter.

This reproducer would appear to not be numbered anywhere.
Under the diaphragm it states "His Master's Voice, Exhibition, Made in England"
I also have one which did not come with a machine so I do not know it's date.
It has a triangular needle hole, Serial No 9902 and reads "His Master's Voice, The Gramophone Co. Limited London-Berlin-Paris. Exhibition. Made in USA."

This is very low indeed. Is the distance of the mounting holes different from later specimen?

The following machines came out of private homes or through general antique dealers many years ago. I'm certain that the Exhibition sound boxes are original to the respective machines:

Victrola XVI No.76975 E (mine since 1967): Exhibition No.49084 B

Victrola XII No.2781 (early pre-1910 cabinet; mine since 1998): Exhibition No.324919

Victor I No.10825 (mine since 1972): Exhibition No.45168

Victor II No.41998 (mine since 1974): Exhibition No.193888

Victor III No.13406 A (mine since 2001; previous owner is non-collector and owned since 1970): Exhibition No.353743

There's an early VV IV here, but I honestly can't recall if I got it with its sound box, so I'll not volunteer any possible bad data.

Hi Starkton;

Yes, the mounting holes are slightly closer and there is no rubber flange since the reproducer mounts directly to the tonearm piece that holds the reproducer.
